Thursday, February 25, 2010 18:04 - Around dinner time this evening, the box was dispatched for a house fire in Co69's local. 69-9 (Chief Cairns) went responding & was advised by Fireboard that it was reported to be a chimney fire. Within minutes, 69-9, Engine69 & Ambulance 69-7A arrived on scene to find an active fire in the chimney. Truck69 arrived & laddered the building for roof operations. Crews from 69, 54 (Lenni) & 50 (Middletown) worked to clear the fireplace & extinguish the fire inside the chimney. No extension was found outside the chimney or fireplace & units cleared in about 1 hour. Additional units on the alarm were 73 (Rose Tree), 64 (Edgmont), 71 (Chester Heights), RIT45 (Parkside) & Riddle EMS.
