Last night, as the members were arriving to the station for our weekly training session,  it began to snow........again. The weather service is expecting another 18"-24" of snow to fall on top of the 20"+ we received recently. With that, the members took advantage of some quite time yesterday afternoon to get the weekly apparatus & equipments checks complete. For training, the members decided that we would go out & double check the fire hydrants in the area to make sure they are accessible in case of emergency. We are glad to report that quite a few residents & businesses have been helping keep the hydrants free & clear of snow during the storms. However, we still need help. If you go out to shovel, plow or clear your car off, please check the hydrant at your curb or in your lot. If there is snow building up around it, please take a couple minutes to clean it off. All we need is a path from the street to the hydrant and about a 3 foot circle cleared from around the hydrant. Those 2 little steps can help save us crucial minutes in finding or connecting to a hydrant in an emergency.
